    East Cambridgeshire Business Grant 2025

Local businesses in East Cambridgeshire have a golden opportunity to boost growth, create jobs, and invest in innovation thanks to a new round of capital grants.

With £195,716 available through the Rural England Capital Growth Fund, local SMEs and micro businesses can apply for up to £15,000 to help bring new products to market, adopt cutting-edge technology, or improve productivity.

Whether you’re looking to expand your workforce, invest in new equipment, or respond to market changes, this funding is designed to give local enterprises the tools to grow and thrive.

Eligible businesses need a turnover of less than £1 million and a clear business plan showing how the funding will:

    • Support growth and expansion
    • Create new jobs, including apprenticeships where relevant
    • Help respond to market changes
    • Benefit the wider local economy, such as through the supply chain
    • Deliver the project successfully

Applications open with an Expression of Interest form from Monday 6 October and close at midnight on Thursday 23 October 2025. Approved applicants will be invited to submit a Full Application by 21 November, with funding decisions announced after 12 December 2025. Grants range from £5,000 to £15,000, covering up to 60% of project costs.

Cllr Alan Sharp, Chair of the Council’s Finance and Assets Committee, said:

“We are so pleased to be in a position to once again offer support to East Cambridgeshire businesses and I would encourage eligible organisations to apply.

“We are particularly keen to hear from enterprises that want to grow their offering or expand, helping to support job creation, including apprenticeships, and invest in new technology and innovation.

“The Capital Growth Fund has so far supported the growth of 22 businesses including Fordham-based Biologic Technologies and Ely-based Raglan Projects and Cathedral St James, helping to deliver new facilities and specialist equipment to improve efficiencies and drive innovation.”

Businesses interested in funding should submit their Expression of Interest by 23 October 2025. If approved, a Full Application must be completed by 21 November 2025, with decisions announced after 12 December 2025.
