The year begins in March with Artists for Kettle’s Yard — a special fundraising exhibition where visitors will not only see but can also purchase works donated by acclaimed artists. The initiative supports The Jim and Helen Ede Fund ahead of the gallery’s 70th anniversary in 2027.

Running from 14 March to 12 April 2026, Artists for Kettle’s Yard will include pieces by Rana Begum, Antony Gormley, Jennifer Lee, Veronica Ryan, Megan Rooney, Caroline Walker, and 20th-century masters Ben Nicholson and Lucie Rie. The show celebrates the gallery’s long-standing relationships with artists pushing creative boundaries across painting, sculpture, photography and ceramics.
From 25 April to 6 September 2026, Handpicked: Painting Flowers takes over the galleries, inspired by Kettle’s Yard’s signature flower arrangements and paintings such as Cyclamen and Primula by Winifred Nicholson. The exhibition pairs historical and modern artists — including Vanessa Bell, Henri Rousseau, Christopher Wood, and contemporary names Lubaina Himid, Jennifer Packer, Chris Ofili, Caroline Walker, and Alison Watt.
Autumn brings a major retrospective: Sunil Gupta: Life With a Camera, 1970 – Now, opening 19 September 2026 and running through 31 January 2027. The exhibition traces five decades of Gupta’s powerful photography exploring identity, migration, and queer rights across India, Canada, and the UK. Featuring over 130 works, it offers an intimate and deeply human lens on the intersections of art and activism.
Alongside the main shows, the Edlis Neeson Research Space will present Kenji Umeda: Display (25 April – 6 September 2026), revealing never-before-seen drawings, sculpture, and letters between Umeda and Kettle’s Yard founder Jim Ede. A preview of this display will appear at the Margaret Howell flagship store in Marylebone from 19 March to 12 April 2026.
